In addition to lending options from a student’s financial institution, students may consider options from other financial institutions or from the provincial student assistance program if they qualify.
Sponsorship may be available from your employer, or possibly from outside agencies for eligible applicants. Students who wish to apply for sponsorship must contact the appropriate agency for authorization. The application process for sponsorship varies from agency to agency.
Digital School Admissions Advisor can provide you with additional information and help you plan the funding of your education. Planning ensures stress-free learning and can avoid student loan defaults where funds have been borrowed.
Currently, Alberta has a government-sponsored plan that provides loan assistance to qualified full-time students. The type and amount of assistance usually varies depending on your individual circumstances.
If you choose to fund your education through student loans, it is the college policy to apply all loan payments toward the tuition balance until the tuition and other costs are paid in full. This policy is subject to provincial regulation. Loan amounts that exceed tuition fees will be distributed directly to the student.
